The American Cancer Society and the Jordan Hospital in Massachusetts, are teaming up to host the Look Good... Feel Better "Pink Tea" event , according to The Carver Reporter.
Breast cancer sufferers will be able to attend the event, where they can sip tea and listen to other breast cancer survivors and patients who have been through the same experiences, according to the news source.
The aim of the program is to help those who have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer or have been undergoing chemotherapy or radiation. The event is designed to offer some free support to boost the patients' self-esteem and confidence, so they make an emotional recovery along with a physical one, the media outlet reports.
According to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, it is recommended that once a woman turns 40 she should schedule annual mammograms. Those who have an extensive family history of the disease may want to start making these appointments earlier, as the genetic disposition is known to be a risk factor for the disease.
