Irish singer Bernie Nolan recently appeared on Lorraine Kelly's talk show in the UK and showed off her new blond hair that is finally coming in after her long battle with breast cancer, according to the DailyMail
The singer was diagnosed with the disease this past April and underwent a mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiation treatment as well as a breast reconstruction surgery. She is now in remission and plans to participate in the production of Calendar Girls in Bristol at the end of January.
Nolan's resilience was a source of strength for many breast cancer patients when she shaved her head during her cancer treatment and proudly declared, "Get rid of it - I'm in charge of this disease, it's not in charge of me," she said.
Nolan thanked her doctors on the show for their wonderful care and the constant source of strength she felt from her friends and family.
According to BreastCancer.org, there are currently 2.5 million breast cancer survivors living in the United States.
