With New York Fashion Week fast-approaching, designers are gearing up to show off their latest collections, and Nine West is taking steps to help fight breast cancer as well, Global Shift
This venture is a part of their Runway Relief Initiative, and the shoe brand is introducing their Modelina boot, which has a built-in pedometer and will be tracking the miles walked by the models during Fashion Week.
Coco Rocha, Jessica White, Michelle Alves and several other leggy ladies will rock the boots while running all over New York City. For each mile they walk, comma a $10 donation will be made to Fashion Targets Breast Cancer, a charity organization that was created by the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
Fashion Targets Breast Cancer has been raising money for breast cancer research and education since 1994. The charity has also done work to help increase awareness about screenings for the disease and patient care.
According to the American Cancer Society, there are more than 2.5 million breast cancer survivors currently living in the United States.
