A breast cancer fundraiser was held in Georgetown recently and the guests received more than just a gift bag with candles and potpourri. They received a sex toy as well, reports the Washington Post
The fundraiser was organized by the Newsbabes, a group of Washington D.C. television personalities, with this year being their second annual event supporting the Susan G. Komen Global Race for the Cure.
It was attended by 500 guests including Race for the Cure founder Nancy Brinker and Michelle Fenty, wife of Washington D.C. mayor Adrian Fenty. The dress code was pink, of course.
The toys were donated by a local business that caters to women and is owned by a breast cancer survivor. Reactions to the interesting gifts were varied, but overall the event was a success.
The Susan G. Komen Foundation has been working to find a cure for breast cancer since it was founded in 1982. Over the past 28 years it has invested nearly $1.5 billion in research to find a cure for the disease.
