Breast cancer survivors to be honored at Saratoga Race Course

The New York Racing Association (NYRA) will be hosting an event at the Saratoga Race Course to help raise funds for breast cancer research, The Saratogian reports.

The Fabulous Fillies Day will feature a number of events and activities that will both honor women involved in the horse racing industry as well as those who have survived breast cancer. The first 25,000 individuals to arrive will receive a free pink support bracelet from the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).

"Women are a central part of the summer racing season at Saratoga Race Course. We invite ladies to join us for a stylish and fun day at the track on Fabulous Fillies Day," NYRA Director of Community Relations Joanne K. Adams told the news source.

The event begins with a parade of survivors and supporters of the disease. There will be plenty of refreshment for attendees, who will also enjoy a day of races.

The NYRA, the New York Thoroughbred Horsement's Association and representatives from Belfair TVG will present BCRF with a combined donation of $25,000 to support their continued effort to find a cure for the illness.
