It's an indisputable fact that most women love shoes. No matter how many pairs are lined up in your closet, it's hard to resist the siren song of a new pair of perfect heels or adorable flats.
In order to use women's affection for footwear for good (though we can't think of a way it could be used for evil), Shocolate, a shoe store in Texas, has begun to donate some of their sales to benefit breast cancer awareness
The business donated a percentage of their December sales to the Breast Cancer Charities of America, and sold merchandise such as stiletto shoe ornaments, to raise money for the foundation.
Celeste Novak, the owner of the store, told the Woodland Times, "The idea was inspired in honor of her good friend, Cynthia Journee, a breast cancer survivor who had just marked the one-year anniversary of surgery and treatment."
The Breast Cancer Charities of America seeks to unite a variety of healthcare disciplines, such as oncology, nursing, psychology, sociology and nutrition, and combine them to enhance the overall wellbeing of those at risk for or currently battling breast cancer.
