Many women put a lot of thought into their undergarments, but individuals in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, took the idea of fun lingerie to the next level and created 157 one-of-a-kind braziers to benefit breast cancer awareness
, according to TuscaloosaNews.com.
The DCH Cancer Center sponsored the "Bras for a Cause" bra decorating contest, in which participants creatively garnished the undergarments with everything from plastic fruit to pink feathers.
"There were so many good entries, it was hard to choose," said Ashley Strickland, outreach coordinator for the DCH Cancer Center, told the news source when asked about picking a winner.
First place went to a bra titled "Save the Hooters," designed by artist Lora Lunsford, which featured a wide-eyed felt owl crafted from feathers on each bra cup. The crowd favorite award was given to "Boob-E-Trap" which had toy mice hidden inside of it.
Supporters paid one dollar per vote, and in total the event raised $4,500 for the cause.
