Five young women and one man visited several ski areas, including Echo Mountain, Eldora, Loveland, Keystone, Copper Mountain, Vail and Arapahoe Basin, as part of their Ski Colorado Breast Cancer Awareness
Tour in order to raise money for breast cancer, according to the Denver Post.
The young man and women plan to sweep the Aspen ski areas which included 27 locations. They borrowed an RV and aimed to hit every ski resort on their list in just eight days.
"We're really trying to bring light to the whole thing. A lot of breast cancer survivors and people in treatment are coming up. They're really excited about it. They love the RV, they love that we're skiing, they have all their stories," Laura Yale, one of the participants whose mother died from breast cancer, told the news source.
The RV was painted pink with the words "breast cancer awareness tour" written in big letters across it. The group has already raised $10,000.
One in eight American women is expected to face breast cancer at some point in her lifetime, according to the American Cancer Society. Yearly mammograms for those over the age of 40, as well as regular exercise for women of all ages, are recommended in order to fight breast cancer.
