Fashion designer David Meister will be honored at the Susan G. Komen Foundation's "Design for a Cure" gala, and he will also be honored at the event for his support in the fight against breast cancer.
Meister, who is known for his sophisticated and elegant designs, has his line available at Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bergdorf Goodman. He has also been a Pink Tie Guy, which is a group of men who are dedicated to raising breast cancer awareness
, for quite some time.
"As a fashion designer, the focus is so much about appearance," Meister said. "We really wanted to embrace the idea that fashion is a state of mind that embodies beauty, health and confidence. Susan G. Komen Foundation really makes this message come alive through its impressive campaign to build awareness in the fight against breast cancer."
According to the American Cancer Society, one in eight women will eventually be diagnosed with breast cancer. This disease is the second leading cause of cancer-related death among women, following only lung cancer.
