Many schools participate in breast cancer awareness
activities, though one 14-year-old student in Florida is taking some flak for his show of support for the cause.
The student, Frankie Rodriguez, who was wearing bracelets that promoted messages of breast cancer awareness, was chastised by the school and was told that if he continued to don the $4 rubber accessories he would be suspended, according to FoxNews.com.
So what exactly did the bling say that was deemed so offensive?
The bracelets were embossed with tongue-in-cheek slogans such as "I Love Boobies" and "Keep A Breast," the news source reports.
Needless to say, Rodriguez has decided not to sport the jewelry during school hours.
But, perhaps there's another side to this story.
"The student was disciplined for being disrespectful and [inappropriate]. It was not about the bracelet itself," school spokesperson Linda Cobbe told an affiliate of the news provider.
Though we aren't proponents of insubordination, we always support breast cancer awareness!
Adults can look for t-shirts, bracelets, hats, jewelry and other items available for purchase from non-profit organizations that promote breast cancer awareness.
