Invincibelle Spirit Campaign springs into action

Anyone with a green thumb or pink ribbon should be sure to keep their eyes peeled for an Invincibelle Spirit Campaign event nearby.

The warm weather is arriving, and spring is on many people's minds. And what's more spring-like than flowers?

In order support breast cancer awareness, the program is embarking on a nationwide fundraiser called "Pink Days," in which women can support the cause while also getting their flower and plant shopping done for the season.

"A Pink Day gives retailers and plant shoppers an opportunity to be part of a national movement," said Kathy Garfield, an organizer for the campaign. "But it's also a chance to have fun and get creative in support of those touched by breast cancer."

Garfield added that the goal for the initiative is to raise $1 million for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

At the event, the Invincibelle® Spirit pink 'Annabelle' hydrangea will be on sale, and $1 for each plant sold will be donated to the foundation

In addition to offering special prices, many of the participating gardening centers have been getting into the spirit of the event and encouraging their employees and customers to wear pink wigs, pink boas and pink ribbons.
