Jun 8, 2011
Eads Landscape and Garden Center's "Pink Days" will be held at Eads Landscape and Garden Center, in order to raise money for the fight against breast cancer, according to a new report from WPSD Local News.
Among the fundraising tactics is the sale of flowers that the group is calling "Invincibelle Spirit Hydrangea." One dollar from every hydrangea sold will go toward charity.
There will also be pink flowers and trees on sale at the event, which will offer a surprise reward to those who attend wearing something pink.
The fundraiser will take place on June 10 and 11, with proceeds going to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Eads hopes to raise $1 million for the fight against breast cancer.
There were more than 207,000 new cases of breast cancer in women, and almost 2,000 new cases in men were reported in 2010, according to the National Cancer Institute. Breast cancer can be found in the breasts, the ducts of the breast, as well as the breast lobules, which produce milk. Women over 40 should have yearly mammograms, according to the American Cancer Society.
