Jennifer Griffin, a FOX News correspondent, has spent her life entering dangerous war zones, yet it's safe to say nothing prepared her for her recent battle with breast cancer. The courageous woman just made a triumphant return to television, albeit slightly teary-eyed.
"I must say I've been on the verge of tears all day because I've had so many warm wishes from everyone there," she said on the program Studio B, which was filmed in Afghanistan. "I must thank everyone. It's very emotional for me to be back!"
Griffin was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in September 2009, and has undergone treatment since then. She is now proud to proclaim that she is 100 percent cancer-free.
The show's host, Shepard Smith, was also emotionally affected by her success beating the disease.
"These are tears of joy," he said on the program. "I think you've surprised yourself this time."
Griffin is not alone in her fight against the disease - experts estimate that there are around 2.5 million breast cancer survivors living in the United States today.
