Retailer Kohl's has joined the fight against breast cancer, and is encouraging their customers to help the cause.
The initiative, Kohl's Cares, features merchandise specifically designed for the program, with 100 percent of the net profit going to support the fight against breast cancer. The first collection is set to feature items designed by Vera Wang.
The Simply Vera Vera Wang collection will feature merchandise such as clothing, home goods and fashion jewelry. The items are on sale through the end of December. Kohl's plans on introducing other exclusive products as a part of the new campaign beginning in 2011.
"As Kohl's has recently expanded our philanthropic efforts to support the fight against breast cancer, we are very excited to expand our cause merchandise program with exciting new items that benefit that cause," said Julie Gardner, Kohl's executive vice president and chief marketing officer.
According the American Cancer Society, one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer during her lifetime.
