Los Angeles mother got the help she needed from White Memorial

Maria and JosephMaria, a 40-year old stay-at-home mother of five children, was doing a breast self-examination in the shower when she found a lump.  Unfortunately, after extensive testing, Maria was diagnosed with breast cancer.  At that time she felt as if her whole world had been turned upside down.

Because of donations from National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF)  to White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles, Maria was able to get the care that she needed. 

Today, Maria is now cancer-free and is able to continue to live a happy and healthy life with her family. funds NBCF's free mammogram program to help women like Maria receive early diagnosis.'s support of NBCF has paid for more than 1,660 free mammograms at White Memorial Hospital, LA Mission, and Watts Health Foundation in Los Angeles.
