Making Strides Against Breast Cancer hosts a kick-off party for individuals who are looking for more information about the three-mile walk in Naples, Florida, according to Naples News.
The party will have team members who have already registered for the October 29 event, plus food and drinks for everyone to enjoy, according to the news source.
There will also be a place for individuals to design their own pink bra, which has become a symbol to fight against breast cancer, along with the pink ribbon
. People that want to register will be able to do so there as well, the media outlet reports.
In every town and city, there are individuals that have been affected in some way by breast cancer, and these walks and runs support research to hopefully create positive breast cancer news.
According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths among women in the U.S., following lung cancer. However, the death rate has decreased since 1990 due to advancements in breast cancer health news. There are currently 2.5 million breast cancer survivors in the U.S.
