Music festival raising money for breast cancer research

Nickie and John Thomson have organized a music festival fundraiser in honor of a friend who lost her battle with breast cancer, as well as to benefit Susan G Komen for the Cure, Mercury News reports.

WildwoodStock 2010 was born out of the desire to honor Caroline Irvine, who succumbed to the illness last year. The Thomsons have coordinated an all-day festival that will include live music, face painting and a magician for kids. There will also be a silent auction for gift baskets and gift certificates, among other items.

The event will be taking place almost a year to the day of Irvine's passing, and the organizers hope that the community will come together to celebrate not only her memory, but all of those who have lost and survived their battle with breast cancer.

The festival is being held at the Wildwood Park in Saratoga, California. Entry to the event is free, but guests can donate money to help support the cause.

Susan G Komen for the Cure is one of the largest grassroots networks of breast cancer survivors and activists who have been working to raise awareness about the disease and help raise money for breast cancer research.ADNFCR-2795-ID-19921874-ADNFCR
