The New Kids on the Block are still going strong and giving their fans even more of reason to love them. At a recent concert at Radio City Music Hall in New York City they made a large donation to the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, reports Tonic.com
While performing their hit, Please Don't Go Girl, the men brought out a check for $110,000 to benefit the work the Komen foundation has been doing in breast cancer research.
The cause is near and dear to one band member in particular, Danny Wood, who lost his mother Betty to breast cancer in 1999. The group has been donating a portion of ticket and merchandise sales to breast cancer charities since she passed away.
"Through all of this, I wish my mother were here to see it, but I know in my heart that she sees it every night," Wood told the crowd at the concert.
The Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation has invest over $1.5 billion in breast cancer research since its founding in 1982.
