At the center of Nyaya Health’s efforts to combat health inequity in Nepal are the Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) working in Achham.
Nyaya’s ANMs provide the following key services :
*pre- and antenatal education counseling for all mothers, including distribution of medicines, vitamins, and vaccinations;
*counseling and education for mothers and children regarding malnutrition, including support of the malnutrition treatment program facilitated by our doctors and community health workers;
*24 hour on-call service providing delivery assistance and emergency obstetric services;
*family planning counseling and support of abortion services;
*voluntary counseling and testing for HIV/AIDS;
*general medical support for patients in Bayalpata's inpatient and emergency wards
ANMs are an integral component of Nyaya’s overall strategy to address high rates of disease and mortality in this area of Nepal.
Continuation and expansion of these clinical services continues to be supported by GreaterGood.org through the Gifts That Give More program.
