Breast cancer supporters and survivors often wear their hearts on their sleeves when it comes to how they feel about breast cancer awareness
. However, they could now show their support for the cause on their smartphones, too!
OtterBox, a company that manufactures cell phone covers, has recently announced their plans to offer a series of pink cases for certain models of BlackBerries that will benefit breast cancer awareness. Ten percent of the purchase price from each case sold will go toward the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade.
"Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women and something that affects too many people," said Carol Kurzig, president of the Avon Foundation for Women. "This year alone, over one million men and women will be diagnosed with the disease. We are dedicated to working with the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade to offer our support."
While it's important that women take advantage of any opportunity that presents itself to benefit breast cancer research, making your personal health a priority is essential. The American Cancer Society recommends that women over the age of 40 begin to schedule annual mammograms.
