The bakery and cafe, Panera Bread, will be offering their Pink Ribbon
Bagel in the state of New Jersey during the month of October - National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
All of the customers who purchase these bagels, which will also be available in a baker's dozen, will be donating their money to the Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
"The Pink Ribbon Bagel is a customer favorite, in part because it’s a delicious way to start the day and because each bagel sold helps bring us one step closer to finding a cure for breast cancer," said Panera joint venture area director Robert MacEachern.
This event has been taking place every October since 2001 in order to fight against breast cancer.
According to the Susan G. Komen organization, it is recommended that once a woman turns 40 she schedules annual mammograms. If a woman has an extensive family history of the disease, they may want to start making these appointments earlier to catch the disease during its beginning stages.
