Payless selling earrings to help support breast cancer

The retail shoe store, Payless, will be taking part in the efforts to raise breast cancer during the month of October, as they will be selling $2 earring sets to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization.

"We are excited to continue to show our support for this important cause through our popular breast cancer awareness program," said LuAnn Via, CEO and president of Payless. "Our Embrace the Cause item priced at $2 allows just about everyone to join in the fight against breast cancer and demonstrates how just a small purchase can help raise millions of dollars to help save lives."

The company will be donating 100 percent of their profits from these earrings to various breast cancer foundations in the hopes of finding a cure.

According to the Susan G. Komen organization, it is recommended that once a woman turns 40 she schedules annual mammograms. If a woman has an extensive family history of the disease, they may want to start planning this appointment earlier in order to catch it during its beginning stages.
