Pink Runway show features breast cancer survivors as models

A group of breast cancer survivors strutted their stuff down the catwalk at the The Loma Linda University Medical Center Plastic Surgery Department, according to the Press-Enterprise.

The beautiful ladies were all taking part in Pink Runway, a fashion show that featured women who have battled the disease and also underwent reconstructive surgery.

One of those ladies was breast cancer survivor Jane Ellis, who was first diagnosed with the disease 15 years ago.

"Years and years ago, people got the diagnosis of breast cancer and thought it was the kiss of death," Hill told the news outlet. "Now it's just a bump in the road for many women who find out how much stronger they are and how much courage they have."

The event was being held in order to raise money for the medical center and also for women to have a place to support one another and feel great about themselves.

According to the American Cancer Society, there are currently 2.5 million breast cancer survivors living in the United States.
