Ralph Lauren supports breast cancer charity

A recent event in London, England, helped introduce a new line of limited edition pink products by Ralph Lauren, with the proceeds from the items going toward a breast cancer charity.

Women's Wear Daily reports that a group of London socialites gathered at the American designer's store for a luncheon and to take a look at what the brand was offering.

The day marked the 10th anniversary of Ralph Lauren's Pink Pony breast event. All proceeds from the sale of the items benefited Too Many Women, the label's charity in the U.K. Also, 20 percent of the profits from the brand's Pink Pony products, which were sold in the U.K. throughout the year, will be donated.

Additionally, Lauren is holding an online auction through October 21 to benefit the Pink Pony Fund, with 100 percent of the net proceeds going to the charity. Consumers have the chance to bid on more than 300 items, which include trips to exotic destinations and a front row seat to a fashion show.

According to the American Cancer Society, one in eight women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.
