Constellation Electric and the Maryland affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure have joined forces to use their resources to raise money for breast cancer awareness
Constellation Electric is offering a lower electricity price for their customers who sign up for residential electric choice and as more people sign up for the service, more money will be donated to the charity.
"We are excited about this ground-breaking initative with Komen Maryland that gives utility customers the opportunity to lower the price they pay for electricity while also fighting breast cancer," said Kathleen Hyle, senior vice president of Constellation Energy.
Constellation Electric made an initial donation to Komen Maryland and plans on additional contributions as more people sign up for residential service. The plan is likely seen as good news for Maryland residents who want to shrink their utility bills and help out a worthy charity.
Susan G. Komen for the Cure is the largest breast cancer support organization in the world. The charity has been the driving force behind the breast cancer movement and has donated $1.5 billion since inception in 1982.
