Sam Taylor-Wood is in the news now, but perhaps it's not for the right reasons. The 42-year-old British artist has been making headlines for her May-December romance with actor Aaron Johnson, who is 23 years her junior.
However, many people don't know that Taylor-Wood is a two-time cancer survivor. The beautiful blonde has been in remission from both colon and breast cancer for almost a decade.
Taylor-Wood spoke with Harpers Bazaar
about her breast cancer diagnosis, at the age of 32.
"They kept saying it was one in a million, therefore it can't be [cancer]," she told the news source. Two years prior to that, she had successfully beat colon cancer.
Taylor-Wood is now in complete remission, is engaged to Johnson and expecting a baby. She also directed her first feature film, Nowhere Boy, about the life of John Lennon.
It looks like the woman is determined to persevere with her career - and her health.
"I took on cancer like I take on everything - like a mission and a job to accomplish," she told the news outlet.
