Social media show developed for breast cancer patients

Breast cancer patients have a new outlet, as digital marketing company WireBuzz and breast cancer surgeon Dr. Jay Harness are joining forces to produce a social media show, BreastCancerAnswers.com.

"After watching my stepmom battle breast cancer, I knew I needed to leverage our digital marketing expertise to help women," said Todd Hartley, president of WireBuzz.com. "So Dr. Harness and I built this amazing show that's always accessible to patients just like my stepmom."

There will be question-and-answer episodes that will be uploaded onto the site each week, allowing breast cancer patients to get the information they need. In addition, a visitor of the site can download and print a list of questions to ask their doctor to bring to their next appointment.

According to the American Cancer Society, this disease is the second leading cause of cancer-related death among women, following only lung cancer. However, the death rate has been decreasing since 1990 due to advancements in research and breakthrough breast cancer news. There are currently 2.5 million breast cancer survivors in the U.S.
