Stonyfield launches lid campaign to fight against breast cancer

The yogurt company Stonyfield has launched a new lid campaign in order to raise awareness, develop breast cancer health news and support Breastcancer.org, which is the leading online resource for information about the disease and its treatment for anyone who is suffering from it.

"Stonyfield's lid campaign will provide a double benefit: it gives millions of women the chance to support others facing the challenge of breast cancer by sharing their personal stories, and it gives them such a meaningful way to support Breastcancer.org," said Dr. Marisa Weiss, president and founder of the site. "Each story shared creates a ripple effect of education and encouragement, bringing us closer to the promise of prevention."

In addition, Stonyfield will donate $100,000 to the non-profit organization depending on the activity that occurs on the site.

According to the Susan G. Komen organization, it is recommended that women should receive annual mammograms once they turn 40. In addition, if someone has an extensive family history of the disease, they may want to start getting mammograms at a younger age in order to catch it at an earlier stage.
