Tanger Outlet Centers to donate more than $1.7 million to breast cancer research
Dec 1, 2010
It looks like an esteemed company is doing what they can for a great cause. Tanger Outlet Centers, an upscale retail property owner, has raised more than $1.7 million for breast cancer research, awareness and education.
Their campaign, known as PinkStyle, ran from September 15 through October 25 and asked each of their customers to donate one dollar to local breast cancer beneficiaries. In return, patrons were awarded with a special pink card that provided a 25 percent savings at participating Tanger outlets around the country.
"It takes all of us working together with a common focus and determination to beat this terrible disease," said Steven B. Tanger, President and Chief Executive Officer for Tanger Factory Outlet Centers, Inc. "I am proud of our Tanger Team members for their continued hard work in fighting breast cancer."
This is the fifth year of the campaign and the third consecutive year the company has raised more than $1 million for the cause.
The American Cancer Society estimates that one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer at some point during their lives.
