Tanya Snyder, the wife of Washington Redskins owner Dan Snyder, may spend her nights cheering on her favorite football team, yet the courageous woman still makes time for an extremely important cause.
A breast cancer survivor, Snyder has dedicated much of her time to promoting awareness about the disease. Her efforts will be honored this weekend in New Orleans at the 50th national convention of the Zeta Tau Alpha (ZTA) Fraternity for women, according to the Washington Post
The news source reports that Snyder is a founding member of ZTA's Think Pink! campaign, which has partnered with the National Football League (NFL). She was also the spokeswoman for the NFL's A Crucial Catch campaign, and will continue her duties this year.
According to the NFL website, A Crucial Catch "is focused on the importance of annual screenings, especially for women who are over the age of 40."
It looks like breast cancer is an important issue for several of the Washington Redskin players. In fact, FootballNewsNow.com reports that Tight end Chris Cooley's mother is a survivor of the disease.
