Breast cancer awareness month is fast-approaching, and many different companies are doing their part for the annual event. In fact, it looks like one taxi cab company is taking the battle to the streets.
The Taxicab, Limousine & Paratransit Association (TLPA), which includes a membership of over 1,000 car services in almost all 50 states, is asking each one of its companies to paint at least one vehicle in its fleet pink during the month of October. Automobiles can also be painted with a pink ribbon
decal and be emblazoned with the words Pink Ride.
"This campaign is as much about visibility - reminding people in October that fighting breast cancer requires as many of us as possible to get involved as it is about raising funds for breast cancer organizations," said Alfred LaGasse, CEO of TLPA.
The funds raised will be donated to the American Cancer Society (ACS) or any other organization that is dedicated to the research, awareness and prevention of the disease.
