Thousands of women receive free mammograms

In October, quick and easy online actions benefit the National Breast Cancer Foundation’s program to provide free mammograms for women without insurance or who are underinsured. The organization receives approximately $600,000 annually from GreaterGood.org, an independent nonprofit which distributes contributions from The Breast Cancer Site.

"GreaterGood.org has been a tremendous sponsor and advocate for breast cancer awareness," says NBCF Founder and CEO Janelle Hail.  "The GreaterGood Network’s Click-to-Give and E-Commerce initiatives have helped NBCF provide thousands of mammograms and early detection services to women that could not otherwise afford them."

Support for NBCF’s programs comes from the pink “Click Here To Give” button and other activities on The Breast Cancer Site, one of the eight “Click Here To Give” websites in the GreaterGood Network.

Activities at The Breast Cancer Site have funded more than 52,000 free mammograms since October 2000 as well as contributing to research into more effective treatments, help for those unable to afford necessary prescriptions, counseling for women pregnant with cancer, and more.
