Town Square Queens of Hearts hosts Breast Cancer walk

On May 21, the Town Square Queens of Hearts sponsored a fun walk in order to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation, which is dedicated to promote research in breast cancer and finding a cure for the disease, according to a new report from KNPR.
The fun walk was held at the Town Square Las Vegas shopping center, with registration fees of $5. All of the money went towards the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The one-mile walk aimed to bring people together in their support for breast cancer survivors and the fight against the disease that affects more women in the U.S. than any other cancer, expect skin cancer.
All women over the age of 40 should receive annual mammograms, according to the American Cancer Society. Breast cancer affects one out of every eight women in the U.S. at some point in her lifetime, adding up to more than 200,000 new diagnoses of the disease in the U.S. per year. Men are also susceptible to the illness, although the rates are much lower.
