Troy Lee Designs helps in the fight against breast cancer
Feb 3, 2012
Troy Lee Designs will be showing their support for the fight against breast cancer during the Monster Energy AMA Supercross this weekend. Participants will be decked out in custom pink TLD gear and helmets along with bright pink race bikes.
"Just like a lot of people, the Troy Lee Designs family has been affected by breast cancer," Lee said. "We are committed to providing assistance in any way that we can, so we've designed these very special custom helmets and gear to be auctioned off for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day event in 2012. We will also have custom bikes for the night’s racing which hopefully will bring additional awareness to the movement - finding a cure for breast cancer."
According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related death among women, following only lung cancer. However, the death rate has been decreasing since 1990 due to advancements in research and breast cancer breakthrough news. There are currently 2.5 million survivors in the United States.
