Woman goes horseback riding for breast cancer

Muffie Harvey wanted to raise money to support the fight against breast cancer. Being an avid horseback rider, it only made sense for her to combine the two.

Harvey tells WPTZ that she was inspired to undertake the adventure because her mother had been diagnosed with breast cancer twice.

She set out on a journey from Bennington to Burlington, Vermont. Along the way, people have stopped her and donated money right on the spot.

"If I can help eradicate breast cancer that would be an awesome thing, so that our young people and ladies don't ever have to deal with that," she told the news source.

Harvey is donating the money to the American Cancer Society and the Pink Ribbon Foundation.

"People will stop me along the way. Or they'll go by me and realize who I am and what I'm doing and they'll write me a check for the American Cancer society," she told the news provider.

According to the American Cancer Society (ACS), over 200,000 women are estimated to be diagnosed with breast cancer, making it the most common cancer diagnosed in women.ADNFCR-2795-ID-19870173-ADNFCR
