Woman survives two battles with breast cancer

Jill Jones was diagnosed with breast cancer three years ago, and after successfully completing treatment, she thought she was in the clear.

The News and Star reports that Jones found out the cancer had returned in 2008, and she decided to undergo a full mastectomy. Doctors told her one day before her 40th birthday that the cancer had not spread and that with treatment she would beat the disease again.

"I tried to be positive, but deep down I was thinking the worst. There were several people in the room when I went for my results and I knew the consultant was going to tell me I had cancer. It was still a shock," she told the news source.

Now that she is cancer free, the 41-year-old, along with her 4-year-old daughter Amelia, has launched a line of pink products to support Cancer Research UK's new breast cancer campaign.

The chances of a woman developing breast cancer in her lifetime in the U.S. is one in eight, according to the American Cancer Society.
