Women turns breast cancer survivor blog into book

Sheri Kay recently decided to publish a new book titled, "HINENI: HERE I AM - One Woman's Journey Through Breast Cancer," after she received rave reviews from survivors who read her blog.

"People who were reading my blog seemed to find their own stories and lives weaving through mine," said Kay. "I was told over and over that I helped other people keep their own events and lives in perspective. Other women who had been diagnosed with breast cancer found my site to be a helpful resource as they were learning what questions to ask. They found useful information on both the clinical and the emotional sides of what lay ahead of them."

Not only did this help other cancer survivors, but Kay added that it was also a form of therapy for her as well.

According to the American Cancer Society, this disease is the second leading cause of cancer-related death among women, following only lung cancer. However, the death rate has been decreasing since 1990 due to advancements in research and breakthrough breast cancer news. There are currently 2.5 million survivors in the U.S.
