"Every woman can survive life's challenges by calling on Jesus"

Well here we are again, ready and excited about Race for the Cure and what a difference a year makes! As most of you know it has been a rough year for me dealing with and fighting Breast Cancer but I beat it and feel great! Well physically I feel great, mentally I am getting there :). Not only did I have to have multiple breast surgeries but I also had to undergo a full Hysterectomy in January which has been a bit challenging with my emotions but I am getting better.

I am looking forward to walking with the rest of you this year! I know it is going to be a very fun and emotional day but I cannot wait! I know when I see the people holding the “Under 1 Year” sign it is going to break my heart because I remember how scared I was at that time but it is true, “it get’s better in time”. I am also looking forward to holding the “Over 1 year” survivor sign and hope to be there for many more years to come.

As tragic and difficult that this past year has been, a lot of great things have come out of this as well. I have become closer to my family which means so very much to me. My relationship with my boyfriend and best friend has become stronger and more open.

Every day I thank the dear Lord for giving me the opportunity to be healthy and here with my family and friends. I love you all very much and cannot thank you enough for all of the love and support I have received from you. Now let’s get ready to “Race for the Cure” and make a difference!
