I was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2009 when I was 36. I had a mastectomy a week after the diagnosis. A few weeks later, I learned that the cancer had spread to my bones. I started chemo and radiation right away, but a month later, I learned the chemo was not working and the disease had spread to my liver. A few months later, my leg broke because the disease in my bones was so bad. I didn't think I would make it to my 37th birthday. But the tumors on my liver started to shrink, and the tumors in my bones stopped growing. Now, over 2 years later, and LOTS of chemo - I think I'm about to hit my 100th treatment - my liver is clear and my bone mets are stable. I feel very blessed to be alive - God is so good! I will never give up. I want to beat cancer and tell this story when I'm 80!
