On 05/26, I celebrated 24 years of breast cancer survivor! I was only 33 with no family history. I had a total mastectomy with 1 out of 26 lymph nodes positive, underwent 6 months of chemo, lost all my hair, had severe depression, but pulled out of it and went on to reconstruction. To my shock and awe, I got pregnant 6 months after that, gave birth to a healthy baby girl and now have a beautiful 22 year old, who will be an RN shortly.
I thank God every day for my health and feel He has left me here to help take care of my now elderly parents and 3 beautiful grandchildren from my oldest daughter. I pray that I continue to stay healthy and do everything I can to do so, I watch my diet, exercise regularly and stay very active.
I hope this helps anyone going through their battle with cancer. Know that God is good all the time and you can and will survive!
