Due to job loss and financial strain, breast cancer screenings have declined by 89.2%, according to JCO Clinical Informatics. What should be a free or low-cost service saving women’s lives is now drastically underutilized, putting more women at risk, especially given that if caught early, the five-year survival rate for breast cancer is 96%.
